Sr. Software Development Engineer

The Order Management team at Expedia Group is looking for a self-starter to help lead us in building and deploying the next generation of transactional systems. You will be instrumental in the performance of our team to ensure that we meet the global needs of our business while limiting technical debt and advancing DevOps practices. Bring your excellent drive for results and help us deliver on the platform vision.

 

 

You are not only skilled at programming but a leader and mentor, capable of raising the quality bar and overall level of self direction within the team. You will serve as a domain specialist and technical lead in multi-functional feature delivery and lead by example when called upon for production support.

 

 

Who you are:

  • Experience building transactional middle-ware in Java
  • Diverse background with data storage technologies (RDBMS, NoSql, Document Store, in memory key/value, search systems)
  • Experience in Solr is a plus
  • Cloud experience on AWS/Hybrid Cloud
  • Expert level knowledge of Spring frameworks
  • Experience using git in a shared setting
  • Contributions to open source projects

 

 

What you'll do:

  • Bring 7+ years’ full stack software experience across multiple technologies, languages and frameworks
  • Draw on experience to lead technical designs and implementation of highly scalable and adaptable systems
  • Mentor junior developers and help drive engineering maturity (2+ years)
  • Write code utilizing expert-level skills in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms and system level programming (including multi-threaded programming)
  • Performance test and load test services that you'll write and optimize for performance and scalability
  • Practice resilience engineering for every component you build and promote resilience within the team
  • Use past-experience with Agile software development to help improve team execution
  • Cloud DevOps – support and deploy your services
