The Role


The Service Fabric team is building the foundations of a globally distributed, secure and scalable modern application architecture to meet Outreach’s emerging business needs. Simultaneously, the team is enabling engineers across Outreach to build state-of-the-art services by providing tools and libraries for service configuration, setup and management. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the team, build and deliver on a challenging vision, while collaborating closely and playing an influential role in the entire engineering organization. 


About the Team


The mission of the Service Fabric team is to deliver the foundational platform components and services to support Outreach customers, internal first-party developers as well as third-party partners and engineers. This rapidly growing team is driving the design, implementation, and operation of systems around API querying, distributed data access, routing, optimized workload scheduling and processing, and feedback based rate limiting. Using tools and libraries delivered by this team, engineering teams can leverage best practices and patterns seamlessly, while monitoring and profiling their services for performance and load characteristics.

  • Effectively design, build, deliver and operate systems at scale 

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success owning and delivering scalable distributed solutions 
  • Familiar with continuous deployment environments 
  • Experience with complex architecture in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience mentoring and growing engineers in an organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in working with services written in Golang is highly desirable 
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale
  • Experience with our technical stack: Go, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, ElasticSearch, MySQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ and Redis

Our Lower Queen Anne office is located along the beautiful Elliott Bay waterfront north of Belltown, near Myrtle Edwards Park.
