DESCRIPTION

DynamoDB is a super high-scale, low latency NoSQL database which powers the internet.

Manage the DynamoDB Border Services which owns the components that front our network access to our customers and their clients that ensure our single digit latency at AWS scale.

This team owns our DNS, load balancing, and TLS termination. This is the ideal role for manages with experience and interest in high scale, high availability, and low latency networking.

The team will have 10 system development and software development engineers and growing.
 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or five or more years of work experience in software development as an equivalent.
· Two or more years of people-management experience leading software development teams.
· Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, and Go.
· Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or web services running on servers in multiple data centers or Availability Zones.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
· Seven or more years of work experience in software development, including four or more years as a people manager.
· A track record of successfully leading an agile software development team to deliver projects on a schedule.
· The ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
· A track record of hiring and retaining great software development engineers.
· Experience with relational and nonrelational database systems.
