    We’re looking for motivated UX Engineers to help us build and envision delightful customer experiences for the world’s travel platform. We work on a global scale for many brands, across devices and platforms, in a diverse and collaborative environment.
     

    As a UX Engineer II, you will join our dedicated design system in our Partner UX organization. You will partner with other Engineers, Designers, and Product leaders to create enterprise-level solutions that meet performance, accessibility and experiential goals.

     

    Who you are:

    • You build reusable and flexible UI solutions using scalable HTML/CSS/JS

    • You have experience working with React on production enterprise web apps

    • You partner closely with UX Designers to rapidly prototype experiences for user and technical validation, and to push the boundaries for what is possible in web app UI

    • You are comfortable advocating for and influencing web front-end coding standards

    • You understand how contributing to documentation (instructional and technical specification) leads to a more aligned team

    • You enjoy discussing technical solutions with peers and providing new ideas to problems

    • You maintain a high awareness of industry trends, particularly regarding accessibility, usability, and emerging front-end web technologies

    • You have up-to-date understanding of emerging W3C standards (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6/ES7, etc.) and cross-browser/multi-device support

    • You have experience using version control (Git), unit testing JavaScript (e.g. Jest, Enzyme, Mocha, Chai, etc.) and CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS etc.)

     

    What you’ll do:

    • Write semantic HTML, scalable CSS, and performant JavaScript code that works across diverse web clients

    • Build scalable UI solutions in JavaScript using React

    • Provide estimates for building UI solutions (e.g. time to complete, effort, tradeoffs, considerations, etc.)

    • Contribute to an enterprise-level B2B design system and UI component library

    • Triage, research, and fix UI bugs in our UI component library and Production web apps

    • Optimize web UI for performance across diverse web clients. Know the rendering engines in each browser and their weaknesses

    • Develop UI prototypes to support a team of UX Designers, Content Strategists and UX Researchers

    • Develop partnerships with UX Designers, UX Researchers, Content Strategists Product Managers, and Engineers to gain deep understanding of different aspects of our products

    • Be a web front-end engineering specialist on the UX team
