It currently takes the same amount of time to process an average American mortgage as it does to walk nonstop from Manhattan to San Francisco! Xpanse is working to change that. 

It’s our mission to create a universal platform that brings clarity, ease, automation and security to the origination process. Our SaaS platform will power the mortgage industry and its relationships with a massive network of third-party providers that are integral to the mortgage process. By focusing on the customer, using automation, real-time intelligence, big data, and analytics we are changing the way borrowers, lenders, servicers, and service providers take care of business. 

Disrupting an industry is a team sport, so we are looking for the best and brightest to make an impact and change the future of an $11 trillion industry. We are growing rapidly in the Seattle Area and looking for a VP of Infrastructure and Security with experience in the Mortgage industry to join our team. You will lead and grow our high-performance infrastructure, DevOps and IT security teams in this mission to disrupt the industry.


WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Lead the vision and development of tools, systems, mechanisms that enable the company to innovate at a fast pace without compromising on the availability and security of products we offer customers.
  • Create the right data infrastructure that enables the broader team to build high performing data pipelines and ML based products to disrupt the mortgage industry
  • Partner with the senior leadership team to develop and implement mechanisms that are efficient, effective and can scale with the business; implementing automation where appropriate.
  • Establish security and data protection policies, and ensure adherence to local regulations.
  • Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
  • Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance
  • Review and consult on code and architecture decisions
  • Mentor, develop and guide your team members to execute at their highest abilities and grow to levels beyond their expectations
  • Partner with the talent team, recruit and hire diverse, world-class talent with effective hiring strategies
  • Plan team growth based on company objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 15 years building and shipping a mix of enterprise and SaaS products 
  • 10 years building and supporting Infrastructure, DevOps teams in a senior management and/or executive roles
  • Have a proven record of accomplishment in working within an Executive Management Team to set priorities, uphold organizational values while retaining a corporate culture, and creating competitive difference
  • Strong track record of delivering results and creating a positive, high performing culture 
  • Active leadership in SaaS, cloud-based systems architecture, kubernetes, CI/CD, tooling, and infrastructure as code
  • Fluent in multiple modern programming languages, development stacks, orchestration frameworks, cloud-based platforms and microservice frameworks;
  • Highly quantitative data-driven focus and commitment to drive excellence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to advise and communicate with executive leaders and business stakeholders of all levels.
  • Proven track record of recruiting, retaining and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Ability to create a "results driven, security and availability first" culture where team members are accountable, can autonomously prioritize across competing needs and drive alignment across all levels of the organization 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree (CS, MBA)
  • Previous experience in a leadership roles with clear accountability for the operations of software delivered by the company and responsibility over P&L.
  • Fintech experience
  • Mortgage industry experience
  • Start-up leadership experience
