About the Role:
Remitly's Customer Transaction Accounting Program (CTAP) is core to our business. We manage all the accounting and reconciliation for every customer transaction, globally, that runs through our systems. As the Accounting Supervisor on the CTAP Accounting team, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager you will be an essential contributor to our financial statements by supporting the month-end close process, investigating money movement across Remitly's products, managing curated datasets, key metrics, and reporting.
You Will:
- Be an expert on the Order to Cash process, which includes proper accounting and analyses of revenue, cost of sales, cash, customer incentives, customer receivables and liabilities, foreign exchange transactions, and reserves
- Build and oversee scalable system solutions and process improvements
- Be the owner of trend and variance analysis to expected outcomes
- Assist the CTAP team on fulfilling audit requests
- Be the owner of the daily and month-end close responsibilities such as, but not limited to:
- Support in overseeing the coordination and rhythm of the month end close process
- Support in JE recording and reconciliation of accounts
- Ensure key metrics and KPIs are met
- Work with several teams such as, FP&A and Treasury, to ensure financials are, complete, and accurate by establishing and maintaining a framework to automate, monitor, investigate, and resolve issues
- Other tasks as assigned
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 4+ years of experience in an accounting or similar role
- Knowledge of US GAAP specifically ASC 606 and ASC 830
- Experience working in NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred
- Experience analyzing and working with large datasets and familiarity with data management tools such as Excel (e.g. can write advanced macros) and SQL
- CPA strongly preferred
- SQL and Python experience required
- Tenaciously follow through on commitments, no matter how small
- Curiosity and ability to dive into details and guide insights from data; you understand not only what is happening but why it is happening

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
