We are looking for a talented Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Accounting team to drive sound financial and accounting processes to support business growth. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is focused on supporting FLEXE’s payable processes and procedures.


We are looking for a reliable and precise professional to help us properly maintain our payable information. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for entering accounts payable information, maintaining the accounts payable aging, and will partner with revenue accounting to ensure warehouse operators are paid timely. We are seeking an experienced candidate who can analyze expense reports to assign payments to the proper departments, work with vendors to ensure timely payments, partner with internal customers to ensure timely approval of invoices, and work closely with the Operations team to reconcile monthly statements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly general ledger closing activities related to Accounts Payable, assist with monthly accruals, complete month-end closing checklist, and other supporting duties.
  • Own the Accounts Payable processes including: entering invoices into system; prepare and process electronic transfers and payments and check; post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records; and reconcile the subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare analysis of accounts to ensure timely payments and identification of issues.
  • Ensure timely cutoff by processing all invoices received prior to Accounts Payable close and assist with the month-end accruals.
  • Correspond with vendors including: responding to inquiries, communicating about payment status, and ensuring that company accounts remain in good standing.
  • Analyze discrepancies and liaise with other departments to research and resolve items, as necessary.
  • Manage corporate credit card activity, expense reports, and perform proper coding of costs.
  • Maintains complete document trails to ensure that audits can be easily conducted on all transactions.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of processes
  • Prepare year end 1099 reporting and collection of Form W-9 from vendors
  • Support ad hoc analysis and projects

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field preferred
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Priority given to applicants located in the Greater Seattle Area
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction. We will not be sponsoring visas for this role at this time.
