Pivotal Commware is offering you the opportunity to own the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. To succeed in this role we ask that you bring your strong organizational skills and ability to execute repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy. As a member of our growing startup’s small Accounting team you will also have the chance to advance your skillset by assisting with GL work, account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, fixed asset tracking, etc.

AP Functions:

•Process vendor invoices – match document specifics to purchase order and receipts to ensure proper authorizations and back up are in place, determine transaction tax-ability, code to applicable GL accounts, route for approval as required

•Code credit card transactions and ensure proper backup and approvals received from cardholders

•Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policy and accurate GL account classification

•Establish cadence for performing vendor payment runs; monitor for one-offs 

•Set up new vendors, collect W-9's, prepare and file 1099's on an annual basis

•Investigate and respond to vendor inquiries

AR Functions:

•Receive customer purchase orders and enter corresponding sales orders in QuickBooks

•Obtain drop shipment paperwork, monitor customer shipment acceptance, generate and send customer invoices

•Work with customers, contract manufacturer, and internal personnel to resolve invoicing issues

•Follow up with customers if payments are delinquent

•Prepare state sales tax remittances

What Pivotal is Looking for:

•Strong attention to detail

•Prior Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience a plus

•Desire to learn 

•Someone who is flexible, adaptive, and resilient - enjoys working in a startup environment

•Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus

•Demonstrated ability to build cross functional relationships throughout an organization

•Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel are a plus
