The Job:

Tango Card is on the lookout for an Assistant Controller to join our Finance & Accounting team to help prepare accurate and timely financial statements for Tango Card and its subsidiaries.  This is an exciting opportunity to continue to develop this function while working alongside multiple departments to maximize impact across a rapidly growing organization.

 

Reports to: Sr. Director of Accounting


As the Assistant Controller at Tango Card, you will:

  • Oversee the monthly financial close process. Owns the GL and recording of all business transactions, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP, local accounting requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead, support, and develop the corporate accounting team while driving efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of our high-growth business
  • Lead research and implementation of new and existing GAAP standards
  • Drive process changes that streamline the close process, reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Primary liaison for Mexico subsidiary third party accounting firm
  • Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, entering adjusting journal entries as needed
  • Build and maintain NetSuite custom reports for financial statement generation and review in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist in annual external audit preparation and oversite
  • Financial analysis as assigned by management


To be effective in our Assistant Controller role, you must have the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years experience in accounting roles
  • 2+ years of Public Accounting
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP including research and implementation
  • Experience in ERP systems and report writing within those systems
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar
  • Mastership of Excel


Our ideal Assistant Controller at Tango Card will have most of the following skills and experience:

  • CPA preferred
  • Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills. You should have a keen eye for patterns and detail.
  • Experience with multi-subsidiary, multinational companies, and foreign currencies
