You Will:

As a Director at Remitly, you take complex business, customer, and technical problems and leading a team to create great products backed by great systems. We use cutting edge languages, tools, and frameworks to build applications on top of a scalable cloud architecture. Our teams operate autonomously, at high velocity and with a set of cultural values that guide how we work together and what we focus on. You will lead product and engineering efforts and work with your finance partners to shape the future of our finance systems. You invest in your team, are passionate about innovation, keep your commitments, know your way around product. The Director of Finance Products will lead product managers and engineers. You have product management experience, specifically with systems built for internal partners, and build relationships, and trust with your partners. You have strong verbal, written, and in-person communication skills and are experienced at partnering to define solutions that deliver customer and business results. You're smart, not afraid of the details, and get things done. The Director of Finance Product reports to the CTO. 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead product, and engineering teams in an agile environment to build, and operate finance products
  • Take large projects and help your teams break them down into manageable pieces, and deliver them successfully and on time
  • Establish high-quality roadmaps based on team strategy in partnership with the executive team, finance partners, and product and engineering leads
  • Work with your product managers and engineering leads to develop detailed product and technical requirements, specifications and user stories that can be used to build products
  • Develop and monitor metrics to assess customer, and business results of products, and use those metrics as inspiration for further development
  • Develop and monitor metrics to assess system, and infrastructure performance, scalability and availability
  • Oversee prioritization and trade-offs among finance partner experience, performance and operational support
  • With Remitly's cultural values as your foundation, embody a culture of pride in product, engineering and operational excellence across your teams
  • Lead product managers and engineers, including mentoring, coaching and professional development
  • Identify initiatives that have non-linear impact on our customer, business, and technical goals

You Have:

  • A BS or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years in product development roles (product management, program management or engineering)
  • 5+ years leading teams
  • Experience as a product manager
  • Experience leading, managing, and coaching product managers and engineers at various career levels
  • Experience with product or program management for internal systems or products
  • Experience with one or more related financial areas (accounting, treasury, pricing)
  • Experience defining and influencing system, and technical designs and processes across teams
  • Experience with QA processes and methodologies and how to apply them
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience partnering and communicating with business, product, and technical partners across the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
