The Director of Financial Reporting is a key leader for the finance team. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Director (and team) are responsible for managing and continuously improving our SEC reporting processes.  The Director is also a key technical accounting resource and is responsible for developing and enhancing accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.

 

Job Duties:

  • Lead, coach, and inspire the Financial Reporting team, to accelerate their professional development and prepare for future advancement in the organization
  • Perform and direct the SEC periodic reporting processes, including timely and accurate completion of the Forms 10-K, and 10-Q, and XBRL compliance
  • Ensure effective coordination with Investor Relations for quarterly earnings release, including Forms 8-K
  • Provide guidance and review for complicated corporate accounting activities, included stock-based compensation, debt and equity transactions, income taxes, goodwill and consolidation of worldwide financial statements
  • Research complex business transactions to conclude on the appropriate application of U.S. GAAP, including detailed memorandums to support positions taken
  • Monitor FASB and SEC activities to identify any potential impact of new pronouncements
  • Manage relationship with external auditors, and effectively and efficiently resolve any issues identified
  • Work closely with the broader Accounting teams to design and monitor effectiveness of internal controls related to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including process/system design improvements and implementation
  • Provide external reporting oversight to special projects assigned, including business and asset acquisitions, financing transactions
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly Audit Committee communications
  • Manage executive compensation disclosures in the annual proxy statement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential required.  Public company experience strongly desired
  • Twelve or more years related job experience, including experience in public accounting and leading and developing high performing teams
  • Proven and thorough knowledge of SEC regulations
  • Outstanding knowledge of technical accounting, specifically, software-as-a-service revenue recognition, business combinations, accounting for income taxes, goodwill, accounting for international subsidiaries (consolidations), and financing transactions
  • Familiar with XBRL reporting tools, such as Workiva or ActiveDisclosure
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to connect with individuals at all levels in the organization
