About the role:

We are investing in building a strategic Revenue Accounting function that will support the increased scale and complexity of our business as we grow. The function is critical for our success and will have deep cross-functional relationships within the company.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track-record leading high-impact accounting functions for complex global companies. This individual will be a recognized business leader and an outstanding.

 

As the Director of Revenue Accounting, you will oversee the entire revenue accounting cycle and will partner closely with FP&A on revenue forecasting and with Sales leadership and Business Desk on critical deal structuring. The leader of the function will also work closely with the Corporate Controller to ensure a successful implementation of an advanced revenue recognition system and work closely team builder.  #LI-TL1

What will you do:

  • Leadership
  • Ownership of revenue accounting, controls, and reporting for all Icertis entities
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Business Desk, Sales and Professional Services leadership to ensure pro-active engagement of revenue accounting matters
  • High-degree of coordination with international operations
  • Work closely with Financial Reporting team on key external reporting requirements
  • Build and nurture a world-class team to support growth, scale and possible IPO/public company operations

  • Revenue Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Own all aspects of revenue accounting, including compliance with ASC 606, running a smooth monthly sales order close process, quarterly maintenance of SSP/fair value analysis, and proper maintenance of deferred revenue
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Advocacy teams on pro-active strategic deal support to ensure optimum accounting outcomes
  • Partner with Professional Services leaders and project managers to ensure proper accounting for service deliver engagement revenue
  • Understand pricing and deal mechanics and play a key role influencing the evolution of both as the company continues to grow and scale
  • Work closely with Controller team to ensure that quarterly revenue reporting is IPO-ready
  • Coordinate with FP&A to ensure an accurate monthly revenue forecasts are published
  • Ensure smooth external audit process

  • Systems and Internal Controls
  • Ensure that deal closure and finance approval process is operating smoothly and effectively
  • Create and implement accounting and booking policies and procedures
  • Build, operate and document revenue systems, processes, and controls to ensure US SOX standards are effectively implemented and being followed
  • Ensure revenue systems are well controlled and scale to meet the demands of a growing and evolving business

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 12 years of finance and accounting experience. CPA recommended (inactive is acceptable)
  • Excellent business acumen with a combination of accounting and business finance experience is ideal
  • Public company / IPO experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated success building strong cross-functional relationships leading across organizations through influence
  • Experience working with off-shore accounting and business process teams will be an added advantage
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills are critical for success
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading teams
  • Strong proficiency in revenue and accounting systems. Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite and Open Air strongly preferred
  • Must be highly proficient with MS Office applications, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to work at a fast pace on multiple projects
