About the Position

Qumulo is looking for an experienced, passionate, highly skilled senior finance professional to join our growing finance team. As a member of the finance team, you will drive and improve our financial P&L management function by leading our reporting, forecasting and planning activities surrounding billings, revenue, and gross margin.

Responsibilities

  • Financial modeling of alternative business models as the company evolves its product and product delivery offerings from hardware through software subscriptions (annual, multi-year etc) through consumption-based software usage through a SaaS offering
  • Regular reporting and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results
  • Forecasting and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial projections
  • Develop and manage annual operating and quarterly forecasting of the topline and margin, including analysis and reporting of performance to targets
  • Development of long-range plans
  • Identify and analyze KPIs, market trends and peer benchmarking
  • Develop product margin analysis to support pricing, including launch of new product and revenue categories
  • Assessment of sales forecasts vs actuals and associated financial impact; collaboration with CFO regarding revenue and margin management and reporting
  • Assessment of sales quotas for alignment with acceptable deal parameters
  • Support sales performance analysis and reporting
  • Participate in various strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for leadership team

Desired Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS in Accounting; CPA or MBA a plus
  • 5+ years progressive finance experience in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment
  • Experience with NetSuite, SalesForce, Adaptive Insights, and Tableau a plus
  • Experience in the software industry and in a startup preferred
  • An understanding the role of various cross functional teams and associated areas of P&L impact; prior experience in developing/negotiating cross functional team budgets
  • Education - BS/MS Finance Discipline; MBA preferred
  • Experience in all aspects of P&L management and reporting; a working knowledge of revenue recognition models
  • Excellent MS Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to interpret financial analysis and results; development of associated operating recommendations
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and the ability to manage and grow a team
  • Ability to scale expertise and management skills as the company grows
  • Mature attitude in protecting the confidentiality of sensitive information both internally and externally to the company
  • Prior experience working for a start-up company
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of information

  • Motivated:  Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced start-up environment
