Title: Financial Analyst - Compensation

Position Summary:

The Finance organization at Trupanion is excited to be adding a Financial Analyst - Compensation to the team! As a Financial Analyst whose focus is on compensation, you will gather, analyze and monitor compensation data – critical to attracting, motivating and retaining top talent. Trupanion has a unique approach to compensation that focuses on how roles contribute to Trupanion’s overall Intrinsic Value, so this is not your typical compensation role.

This is a highly collaborative role that will work with teams across the company to gain a deep understanding of the business and how the various teams play a part in adding value to the business.

The right person for this role has excellent communication skills and is extremely analytical, curious and creative; and is passionate about helping pets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support in development and refinement of unique compensation models through data analysis and modeling

  • Prepare and analyze regular and ad-hoc compensation-related reports/metrics

  • Assist in administration of bonus and equity programs; and

  • Support compensation-related projects, as needed.

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting and decision-making

  • Strong analytical, modeling and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions

  • Highly motivated; strives for innovation, collaboration and trustworthiness with an entrepreneurial spirit

Education, Registration & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 3+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting

Experience:

  • Progressive experience in financial analysis, modeling and reporting

  • Experience with compensation is a plus

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Smartsheet is a plus

  • Experience with ADP is a plus
