Financial Analyst

Reporting to our Senior Financial Analyst, You will be on the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team and will support the budgeting, forecasting and headcount planning for business owners (HR, Product, Operations) across Remitly.
What you'll do:
- Partner with leaders across the organization to provide transparency into cost center performance and variance analysis on a monthly basis.
- Run the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process for operating expenses.
- Manage headcount planning and maintenance across the organization, ensuring all costs are properly tracked and reflected in the appropriate cost centers.
- Work with accounting to support month end close process
- Perform ad hoc analysis to support decision-making
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting
- 1+ years of professional experience in a financial analysis or accounting role
- Deep familiarity with data manipulation using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets
- Familiarity with basic accounting rules, including accrual accounting
- Experience using a planning tool (e.g. Adaptive a plus)
- Passion for continuous improvement
- You love analyzing, organizing, and presenting data in a simple format that resonates with team members
- You take pride in partnering well with people across the business
- You're at ease communicating over several mediums to varied audiences
- You are comfortable with large volumes of complex data and presenting findings to senior management
- Experience with headcount and operating expense planning would be a plus
