Job Summary:

As the Operational Accounting Analyst, you will review commissions payments to our partners, prepare and oversee monthly commission statements, and be involved in all other operational accounting analysis activities. Your primary focus will be collaborating with our Business Intelligence team to analyze, enhance, and operationalize our various partner commission workflows, as we continue to grow and expand these partnerships domestically and internationally. You will also be called upon to leverage your analytical skillset to assist with other key corporate initiatives as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly commission payments to all of our business partners, ensuring contract adherence, payment accuracy, and timely statement delivery
  • Act as the operational accounting department’s liaison with the Business Intelligence department
  • Collaborate closely with the Group Benefits Department to ensure broker contracts are observed and executed appropriately
  • Enhance the operational accounting departments use and development of key metrics and dashboards to monitor success
  • Assist in the development and support of the operational accounting team
  • Partner with various teams to further build out revenue and claim analytics, including more robust monitoring of refunds, chargebacks, failed payments, etc.
  • Spearhead other analytical projects as they relate to the core business and/or key strategic corporate initiatives

  • Strong analytical skills with a desire to digest complex data and use insights to improve processes

  • Alignment with Trupanion’s objectives and a passion to contribute toward achieving them
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively interact with different levels of partners within the organization
  • Desire to cultivate personal and team professional growth

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of accounting/analytical experience
  • Knowledge of SQL, Sisense, and/or Tableau, a plus

Subscription business experience preferred
