About the Role:
Remitly’s Customer Transaction Accounting Program (CTAP) is core to our business. We are responsible for all the accounting and reconciliation for every single customer transaction, globally, that runs through our systems. As an Accounting Supervisor on the CTAP Accounting team, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be a key contributor to the company’s financial statements by supporting the month-end close process, investigating money movement across Remitly’s products, managing curated datasets, key business metrics, and reporting.


You Will:
● Serve as a subject matter expert and work cross-functionally to support the month end
close process (such as creating, booking, and reviewing Journal Entries) to ensure
completeness and accuracy of the below operations and financial statement line items,
including the analysis and flux commentary of trends and variances to expected
outcomes.
○ Orders to cash
○ Revenue, including cost basis
○ Transaction expense
○ Fraud and Disbursement losses and reserves
○ FX gains and losses
○ Customer Funds Receivable
○ Customer Funds Liability
● Ensure account balances are complete and accurate by assisting in establishing and
maintaining a framework to monitor, investigate, and resolve issues
● Assist in the analysis of financial system inputs and outputs, summarize and report
findings, troubleshoot and resolve issues, including establishing requirements for
changes to existing or new products and processes
● Help establish, monitor, and maintain KPIs/key metrics for CTAP, including a framework
to measure success against KPIs/key metrics
● Assist with building tools such as dashboarding and reporting to analyze data
● Help establish a framework for CTAP to analyze data leveraging automation and tools to
ensure completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and scalability

● Assist in developing and enforcing accounting policies and procedures while maintaining

a strong internal control environment
● Assist in fulfilling audit requests
● Supervise a team of direct reports and invest in their growth and development
● Other tasks as assigned


You Have:
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years of experience in an accounting
or similar role
● Strong knowledge of US GAAP specifically ASC 606 and ASC 830
● Experience working in NetSuite or similar ERP systems strongly preferred
● Experience in analyzing and working with large data sets and familiarity with data
management tools such as Excel and SQL required
● CPA required
● Self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing
environment
● Tenaciously follows through on our commitments, no matter how small
● Curiosity and strong ability to dive into details and drive insights from data;
understanding not only what is happening but why it is happening
● Great attention to detail
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
