About the Role
Highspot’s accounting team is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support our day-to-day global accounting and monthly close processes. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-funded company in hyper-growth mode. This is a hands-on position that will assist with driving the improvement of tools, processes, and procedures to allow the company to rapidly scale. The role is based in our Seattle Headquarters and reports to the Senior Director of Accounting.
What You’ll Do

  • Ownership of several global accounting department functions and processes
  • Manage full cycle accounting and compliance for one or more foreign entities
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile all high-risk accounts and activity
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results in compliance with GAAP principles
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status including suggesting ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Provide technical support and advice on accounting and close management
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Mentor accounting staff and assistants including planning and reviewing staff’s work
  • Partner with Finance in financial standards setting and the budget-to-actual close process
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Prepare financial statements and produce close results according to schedule
  • Assist with the review and oversight of tax audits and compliance filings
  • Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Liaise with the Senior Director of Accounting and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures
  • Work on a variety of special projects as needed

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Mix of public and private accounting with progressive increases in responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, including financial statement preparation and subject matter expertise in more than one technical ASC topic relevant to software companies.
  • International Accounting experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Experience implementing general ledger and/or other accounting systems and software strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills including excellent communication skills, both written, and verbal
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize accordingly in a rapidly changing environment
  • Flexible, organized, and detail oriented

Location

Our HQ is located within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the Seattle Piers. With amazing 360 views of the Puget Sound and Downtown Seattle. The only downside, there are almost too many places to pick for your lunch meetings.
