What this role is about
Donuts is looking for a driven self-starter Senior Accountant to become a member of our Finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a company that is in high-growth mode and continuously innovating with top-level domains. This individual will play a key role in improving operational excellence across the organization. The role requires strong accounting and operational expertise, an ability to communicate and work with various teams outside of Finance, and strong organizational skills.
Core responsibilities for this role
- Responsible for day to day operations including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, leases, payables, and intangible assets domestically and internationally
- Responsible for month-end close process including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, investigation of discrepancies, and fluctuation analysis
- Processing of accounts payable invoices and managing expense reporting across the organization
- Administering of vendor accounts, W-9’s and 1099 reporting
- Partner with FP&A and various functional business owners to support budget preparation and accurate coding of expenses
- Take ownership of process improvements. Document business processes and assess current processes for efficiency
- Participate in non-routine projects such as cross functional projects, reconciliation issues, system implementations, etc.
- Assist with requests from outside firms for audit and tax matters
- Support integrations with any new businesses acquired
- Demonstrated ability to partner closely with the business, providing valuable insights and data to optimize business results
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience; a mix of public and private accounting preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and general understanding of relevant tax issues
- Experience with NetSuite and Concur a plus
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word). Google
- Proficiency with pivot tables and formulas in Excel
- Team player who effectively interacts with peers and business partners across the company
- Highly organized and the ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills and able to juggle with conflicting deadlines
- Proactive in problem solving and issues resolution. Driven to complete activities on time and draw issues to closure
- Flexible in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment and customer focused
- Detailed oriented and strong analytical skills: ability to identify and analyze complex issues; focus on relevant information; understand and utilizes metrics relevant to role
