This highly visible position will be responsible for accurately calculating sales commissions for a variety of compensation plans, delivering best in class customer support to a growing sales organization, and providing analysis of sales performance and commissions earned.  In the position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with several departments including Sales, Finance and Senior Leadership. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, able to multitask, thrive in a fast paced environment, and an effective communicator. You will be a key member of the Accounting Team, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of sales compensation plans, policies and processes each fiscal year (or as needed) to support the business objectives
  • Manage day to day operation of global incentive compensation programs (attainment calculation, communications to sales staff and managers)
  • Work with management on all strategic compensation initiatives, sales policy simplification, and improve our internal processes.
  • Thoroughly understand and execute all compensation plans to ensure payments are accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policy or practice.
  • Work with Sales Operations team to research and resolve commissions related issues.
  • Monthly reconciliation of open orders and invoicing.
  • Make changes to compensation plans due to new hires, terminations, territory or compensation updates.
  • Ensure Sales Compensation processes are in compliance with internal and external audit practices and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Payroll Team to ensure accuracy of commission payments.
  • Assist with various month end responsibilities such as calculating deferred commissions, entering payroll journal entries, reconciling accounts and variance analysis
  • Support annual audit deliverables related to compensation payouts and provide assistance related testing of sales compensation processes.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working with accounting, payroll or commissions
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
  • Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivots, excel navigation using shortcuts and hot keys)
  • Excellent analytical skills (data collection and modeling, what-if scenarios)
  • Macro experience desired but not required
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and take direction
  • Technically savvy with a strong interest / experience working with new software tools and system implementations.
  • Problem solver with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.  
  • Can multitask and keep on top of priorities while accomplishing the details of tasks at-hand.
  • Excellent Communication. You know what to say and more importantly, how to say it.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and Salesforce a plus
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
