In the US Indirect Tax Special Projects group, we are responsible for a portfolio of challenging work, including: Supporting mergers and acquisitions; advising business groups within the company on US sales/occupancy, gross receipts tax, sales tax, and other indirect tax risks while providing requirements to help mitigate these risks; and engaging in internal tax planning projects.

What you'll do:

As a member of the US indirect tax Special Projects team, you would:

  • Perform legal research and analysis on a variety of state and local indirect tax questions and draft memorandum and other written documents.
  • Advise our brands and businesses on multistate tax issues and how to mitigate tax risk.
  • Lead and implement special projects, including tax business advisory and internal tax department efforts to analyze tax risk and mitigate/resolve potential exposures and realize tax benefits.
  • Effectively represent the indirect tax group in business advisory meetings either as participant or leader.
  • Develop and lead a team of motivated tax professionals.
  • Work effectively with outside service providers.
  • Team with internal groups within the Company such as accounting and legal departments.

Who you are:

  • BA/BS Degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or related field.
  • MPAcc (Tax) or J.D. with LL.M (tax).
  • Licensed CPA or attorney.
  • 7-10 years of tax experience working with complex multistate taxes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong background with computer tax research.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Big 4 accounting firm and/or law firm a plus.
  • Prior experience with sales and occupancy related taxes.
