About the Role

This role will support the evolution of the Live and Work Anywhere Center of Excellence team and our workspaces by researching forward-thinking strategies to shape Airbnb’s Workplace landscape to evolve the employee experience.  A specific focus will be on mobility tax design and servicing in support of a new flexible way of working keeping in mind the holistic experience of the employee. 

This role is cross-functional in nature and will require a strong partnership across Airbnb’s central function teams, including Tax, Payroll, Equity, Legal, and HR teams. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships at all levels of the company, and to interpret the company's priorities and values into actionable solutions that align our mobility practices with our team’s goals and objectives.

We are looking for someone who is excited, curious, and feels empowered by future working concepts and someone who is an impeccable collaborator who can easily work across a significant number of stakeholders. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive an impactful mobility tax program, designed to scale and provide an outstanding employee experience.
  • Oversee mobility tax vendor management, policy oversight and update policies as necessary, to meet the needs of the business, and align with talent strategy.
  • Counsel employees, recruiters, Talent Partners and managers on relocation and tax policies and processes.
  • Manage process flow as it pertains to relocation policy queries, initiations, vendor contact and employee questions.
  • Review and approve invoices from the relocation and mobility tax vendors.
  • Develop helpful and clear content for employee facing knowledge management tools on Mobility Tax Policies 
  • Develop and maintain documentation of mobility tax process flows.
  • Develop and review of tax equalization and international tax assignment policies
  • Develop and review secondment letter preparation and execution process.
  • Respond to queries from employees related to Airbnb’s tax programs for international & domestic permanent transferees, international assignees and potentially international & domestic business travelers
  • Partner with equity programs, corporate tax, finance, payroll and legal to manage the cross-functional administration of mobility tax
  • Review and approve certain tax filings, tax payments, tax equalization documents and payroll tax files for processing
  • Leverage internal stakeholders to identify process and policy gaps, emerging trends, draft policy and process revisions and assisting with the implementation of mobility tax programs
  • Support the tax programs experience and ensure that the tax services vendor delivers on the employee experience
  • Develop policies and implementing flexible working arrangements that align with business needs
  • Communicate broadly and provide training to managers, employees, talent partners and other stakeholders to achieve the benefits of flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years mobility program or project management experience, ideally in consulting or tech; Big Four experience a plus
  • Minimum 3 years working in a role with global responsibility and taking a global perspective into account when approaching your work
  • Possesses proven experience in multiple mobility tax scenarios; has an intermediate level of understanding of various back-end technical requirements
  • Experience working in large global organizations with complex technical environments.
  • Digital dexterity; able to leverage and quickly reskill on mobility tax needs as it evolves.
  • Proven track record of establishing relationships, influencing and negotiating competing priorities with both internal and external partners
  • Exhibit strong analytical, conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
  • Requires someone with superior written and oral communication skills; including briefing/training skills, and the ability to interact with employees 
  • Change management experience a plus

The starting base pay for this role is between $100,000 and $124,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Role can be remote in USA, with a preference on PST time zone
