The Sr. Financial Operations Analyst is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to the Billing & Revenue teams with the goal of timely & accurate billings. Critical components of this job include assisting in the development of new reporting tools, improvements to current billing workflows, managing the data integrity of billing systems, sales contract review for billing and revenue implications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing reporting using tools such as SQL in order to simplify, reconcile, and automate billing processes
  • Review sales orders to ensure customers and subscriptions are properly set up and invoiced in the billing system
  • Provide billing onboarding to new product lines, working with Business & Product leaders
  • Assist in Billing System Administration, performing tasks such as designing new Rate Plans, provisioning new users, managing subscription data integrity
  • Work across departments to identify and resolve system integration issues
  • Drive process improvements working with business partners and other departments
  • Perform ad-hoc Reporting for members of Finance & Operation teams
  • Work with other departments on the development and implementation of improvements to billing and accounting systems
  • Provide backup to Billing team in key billing responsibilities
  • Support audit requirements on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Perform special projects as requested

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems strongly preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce, Zuora, or NetSuite is a plus; the ability to learn new systems, and how they interact with one another is a requirement.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, and other Microsoft Office products is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL is strongly preferred; experience with VBA, Python, or R is a plus.
  • 3 + years’ experience within accounting/billing/internal systems environment, preferably for a software company.
  • Understanding of GAAP and related Revenue Recognition concepts preferred
  • Interest and aptitude to work with a high volume of data processing. Able to function independently as well as with a team effectively.
  • Well-developed problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Able to discern alternatives, make objective recommendations, and understand how to effectively work with other business groups to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Oral and written communication skills to interact with upper levels of management
