Blue Nile is looking for a passionate and talented Staff Accountant to be a key contributor to our Finance organization. The position has an emphasis on accounting for and analyses of fixed assets, marketing expense and related accruals, and other assets. This position will also support other ad hoc projects. We’re looking for a candidate who is highly detail-oriented, has the ability to process large volumes of data, is a self-starter who possesses exceptional organization and communication skills, and has a passion for our business.
Responsibilities:
- Month-end close responsibilities including recording journal entries and preparation of reconciliations for the following accounts:
- Marketing expense and accruals
- Fixed assets
- Other assets
- Other accounts as assigned
- Serves as a back-up for:
- Payroll processing
- Accounting for and analyses of payroll, employee benefits and equity compensation expense
- Tax team members’ responsibilities
- Preparation of requested audit documentation and analyses to support the independent auditors’ annual audits
- Other projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- At least one year of relevant accounting experience required
- Associate Degree in Accounting or relevant coursework, preferred
- Ability to multi-task and process high volumes of data within established time frame
- Ability to interact professionally across all departments and functionalities within the organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP system preferred
