Summary of role:

Finance and Accounting plays a key role in supporting rapid growth at PitchBook. This team is looking for a Staff Accountant who is highly organized, technical in nature and a great communicator to assist the GL team with accounting processes and ensure the PitchBook financials are timely and accurate to drive the best decisions possible.

Our newest team member will work directly with the Controller and Sr. Accountant in assisting with the general ledger, month-end close and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for learning, enjoy taking the initiative on projects, approach new challenges with proactive solutions and be able to work independently or in a team environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the close process for the financial statements on a monthly basis, including month-end journal entries and reconciliations
  • Manage the company credit card transactions and monthly card reconciliation
  • Assist with the filing of state and local tax returns
  • Assist with inter-company transactions and reconciliations
  • Ensure all financial records and files are maintained in accordance with US GAAP
  • Support the Controller and Senior Accountant with various ad hoc reporting needs
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Perform monthly internal controls for SOX compliance as necessary

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1 - 4 years accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting strongly preferred
  • CPA license preferred, or in the process
  • Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in an ever changing/dynamic environment
  • Advanced skills in Excel is preferred, including proficiency with vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with Oracle ERP is a plus
  • Experience with Coupa is a plus
  • Experience with Concur is a plus
  • Experience working with financial models is a plus
