The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance organization to own end to end revenue accounting, cash and accounts.

The primary focus of this position is to perform day to day accounting functions associated with revenue and A/R, help drive month end financial close, and implement process change within the accounting team. This position must have the ability to work both autonomously and in a fast-paced team-oriented environment; where collaboration within the group is necessary to solve complex problems.

Your Daily Adventures

  • Own the monthly revenue close with regards to A/R, cash, revenue and usage billing
  • Apply cash receipts (e.g., checks, wire payments, credit card payments, etc.) to customer invoices and/or customer accounts. Reconcile variances between amounts received and amounts owed
  • Prepare and process invoice adjustments/ credit memos as well as related accounts receivable/ revenue/ bad debt journal entries
  • Monitor, track, and analyze project % of complete for professional services
  • Prepare journal entries, maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
  • Identify opportunities for process and procedure improvements and work with accounting team and management to implement
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for external auditors
  • Assist with month-end close

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably in a high growth SaaS company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields
  • An understanding of financial systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and/or Zuora is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
  • Capable of building strong working relationships with internal business units
  • Participated in process improvement initiatives
  • CPA or similar certification is a plus
