Position Summary:
Trupanion is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Stock Plan Administrator to join a fast-paced environment to help grow our Company and the medical insurance for pets category! This position is remote and work from home eligible.
In this role, you are an integral part of the Company’s Legal team, reporting to our senior corporate paralegal and partnering directly with the Finance, Payroll, and People Operations teams. You will be relied upon as the specialist in equity award administration and your responsibilities will include applying your expertise to manage the daily administration of the Company’s global equity programs. You will also manage our insider trading process, working directly with Compliance Officer to approve trades during our quarterly open trading windows. Key Responsibilities include:
Daily administration of global equity plans with participants currently in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, and the Philippines
Manage and process grant issuances (either in the form of RSUs or stock options), process award releases and stock option exercises via E*TRADE’s Equity Edge Online (EEO)
Work directly with our equity vendors, specifically E*TRADE representatives and transfer agent on all stock plan matters
Maintain our global equity plan and participant records and reconcile EEO reports to ensure accuracy and database integrity
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations to ensure records are accurate between stock administration, general ledgers, and internal teams systems
Partner with our Finance, Payroll, and People Operations teams to communicate equity plan activity, carry out requirements for reporting and/or resolving issues with plan participants, and ensure compliance, tax reporting, and regulatory requirements are maintained
Communicate directly with participants as the in-house stock plan specialist, answering questions, investigating and resolving any issues regarding stock awards
Manage the stock plan inbox, responding to all inquiries
Maintain the Company’s internal stock plan site that houses resources/materials related to Company stock, generally
Partner with the Company’s Benefits group to develop additional equity resources, as needed
Manage the Company’s quarterly insider trading process to allow participants to trade during an open trading window and approve clearances with E*TRADE
Develop process improvements for all aspects of stock plan administration and the insider trading process
Ad hoc review/analysis on stock plan and equity granting matters
What we’re looking for (Please include a cover letter with your application!):
Proven experience in the equity administration or equivalent, related field
Bachelor’s Degree (in accounting or finance, a plus)
Certified Equity Professional, Exam Level 1 or higher, a plus
Experience working directly with Equity Edge Online, a plus
Experience with international compliance and taxation for restricted stock units, a plus
Expertise in employee equity programs, particularly with stock options and restricted stock units
Passion for helping pets
Ability to fit into a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
Able to maintain strict confidentiality in a very open and transparent environment
Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
