West Monroe is looking for an Accounting Manager with strong communication, organization, and research skills in addition to comprehensive technical accounting knowledge.  The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of US GAAP and experience with IFRS.  This role will interface with internal accounting and finance teams in addition to a variety of corporate functions and senior leaders of West Monroe.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process by providing entries for non-recurring transactions and other complex accounting matters including but not limited to revenue recognition, lease accounting, acquisitions, share-based compensation, goodwill and intangible asset impairment analysis, and debt covenants.
  • Ensure the financial statements properly reflect the legal structure of our organization
  • Lead the research and resolution of significant and / or non-routine transactions
  • Ensure the application of GAAP to complex transactions and communicate the accounting implications to internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Develop, update, and maintain accounting policy documentation.
  • Partner with finance and functional leaders to develop, implement and operationalize standardized accounting policies and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of new accounting policies and advise on the impact to the company.  Draft accounting memos to support conclusions and assist with the implementation.
  • Serve as a resource to the organization for technical accounting interpretation and application.
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of financial statements for international subsidiaries and support the audit of such entities
  • Work directly with the external auditors to coordinate their audit and review procedures
  • Participate in the accounting integration activities associated with any acquisitions
  • Partner with Treasury to ensure accurate processing and reporting of significant cash transactions

Requirements of Candidate:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in auditing and/or technical accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls (SOX)
  • Attentive to detail
  • Highly organized with a strong ability to self-manage responsibilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex accounting matters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact persuasively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated computer skills, with advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
