Technical Accounting Manager

West Monroe is looking for an Accounting Manager with strong communication, organization, and research skills in addition to comprehensive technical accounting knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of US GAAP and experience with IFRS. This role will interface with internal accounting and finance teams in addition to a variety of corporate functions and senior leaders of West Monroe.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process by providing entries for non-recurring transactions and other complex accounting matters including but not limited to revenue recognition, lease accounting, acquisitions, share-based compensation, goodwill and intangible asset impairment analysis, and debt covenants.
- Ensure the financial statements properly reflect the legal structure of our organization
- Lead the research and resolution of significant and / or non-routine transactions
- Ensure the application of GAAP to complex transactions and communicate the accounting implications to internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Develop, update, and maintain accounting policy documentation.
- Partner with finance and functional leaders to develop, implement and operationalize standardized accounting policies and procedures.
- Stay abreast of new accounting policies and advise on the impact to the company. Draft accounting memos to support conclusions and assist with the implementation.
- Serve as a resource to the organization for technical accounting interpretation and application.
- Manage and coordinate the preparation of financial statements for international subsidiaries and support the audit of such entities
- Work directly with the external auditors to coordinate their audit and review procedures
- Participate in the accounting integration activities associated with any acquisitions
- Partner with Treasury to ensure accurate processing and reporting of significant cash transactions
Requirements of Candidate:
- Minimum five years’ experience in auditing and/or technical accounting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls (SOX)
- Attentive to detail
- Highly organized with a strong ability to self-manage responsibilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex accounting matters
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact persuasively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated computer skills, with advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
