What We Are Looking For In This Role​
We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead Leafly’s financial function. The Vice President of Finance will provide strategic and tactical leadership to the company, help drive business value across the organization, and ultimately work to achieve our goal of being the world’s cannabis marketplace. 
The Vice President of Finance will lead corporate finance and accounting functions, overseeing the preparation of all financials and working with the Board, prospective investors, auditors and other key stakeholders. They will lead the company’s financial alignment with its strategic initiatives, working closely with local and international leaders across core business functions such as innovation, compliance, forecasting, investor relations and business value. 
The ideal candidate is an experienced, entrepreneurial thinker; able to toggle seamlessly between strategic thinking and scrupulous attention to detail; hands-on with their leadership style; growth-focused and a natural problem solver; and outcome-oriented at all times. Leafly is looking for you! Here are some of your day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Work with the finance team to lead and manage financial reporting, including month end close and day-to-day accounting
  • Partner with CEO and senior leadership on company-wide budgeting, forecasting, cash forecasting and strategic initiatives
  • Partner with the CEO, as well as stakeholders at Leafly’s parent company, to prepare the necessary financial processes and procedures for additional fundraising and/or taking the company public
  • Lead the development of annual operating plans, sales forecasts, periodic forecasts and forecasting schedules
  • Perform financial and variance analysis, KPIs, and ad hoc analysis and modeling as needed
  • Identify areas for business process efficiency, profitability improvements, and operational and financial controls
  • Oversee the financial functions of our international businesses
  • Partner with CEO and senior leadership on successful execution of shared strategic initiatives
  • Partner with HR in development of company-wide policies and procedures, including facilities and benefits administration
  • Lead, develop and mentor the finance and accounting team implementing operational best practices
  • Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls.
  • Manage annual external audits and liaise with external auditors

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of corporate accounting and finance experience
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Previous experience with e-commerce, online marketplace, SaaS or tech
  • Experience leading a team
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks, software implementation and conversion experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
