About the Role

Highspot is hiring a VP of Finance in our Seattle office. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-funded company in hyper-growth mode. Highspot is looking for someone who will work closely with our executive team and partner with/support leaders to drive key initiatives cross-functionally. You will enjoy a fast-paced environment where you will have chances to influence strategic decisions and what you do will have a significant impact on the growth and profitability of the business. This is a hands-on position assisting with the continuous improvement of tools, processes, and procedures that allow Highspot to continue to rapidly scale. We are looking for someone that is proactive, has a bias for action, and a strong attention to detail. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

What You'll Do

  • Oversight of Highspot’s FP&A team, which has responsibilities for global forecasts, corporate budgets, reporting, ad hoc modeling, board reporting, corporate analytics, and sales compensation calculations.
  • Hire, motivate, and develop a high-performing Finance team with a culture of excellence.
  • Work closely with CFO to drive the strategic direction of the department and build best-in-class processes for addressing rapid company growth and innovation.
  • Drive and review monthly and quarterly deliverables to the Executive Team and Board.
  • Design and execute the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-term strategic planning processes.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize spend and work to reduce costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends, and analyzing the root causes of variances to deliver valuable insight and recommendations.
  • Simplify, streamline, and automate FP&A processes and make full use of forecasting and financial system capabilities that will allow us to continue to scale rapidly and globally.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand, distill, and communicate ongoing and evolving business trends that will drive management decisions and action.
  • Manage frequent ad hoc projects to support senior management and business decisions.
  • Own the budget-vs-actual process, verifying and communicating any deviations from budget and forecasts while working to ensure continued forecast accuracy.
  • Design and execute scenario analysis on company performance to help drive solid financial decisions that optimize the business and support investment decisions.
  • Represent the Finance team for system upgrades, implementations, and integrations.
  • Work with the accounting team on month-end close to derive accurate and timely reporting that is inline with accounting principles.
  • Design and implement best practices for Finance’s global operations as we continue to expand internationally.

Your Background

  • 12+ years of related work experience in a finance position, preferably in a SaaS business.
  • 5+ years of management experience inspiring, developing, and retaining a high-performing team. Experience leading a finance function is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another quantitative field.
  • Strong attention to detail and a ‘Details Matter’ mentality.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required, including complex nested functions, lookups, pivot tables, and modeling. Experience with macros & VBA are a strong plus.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environment.
  • Understanding of GAAP and experience with ASC 606 is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across all levels of the company.
  • Experience using Adaptive Insights (our financial planning tool) or other similar enterprise financial planning tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as Oracle, Netsuite, Intacct, etc.). Experience with commission tools (Xactly, etc.) and analytics software (Tableau, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Experience forecasting headcount and compensation (salary and commission).
  • Experience with forecasting AWS and other cloud infrastructure costs is a plus.

Our HQ is located within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the Seattle Piers. With amazing 360 views of the Puget Sound and Downtown Seattle. The only downside, there are almost too many places to pick for your lunch meetings.
