Fluxx is seeking a motivated and experienced General Counsel to join the Executive team and help drive growth as we support 400+ grantmakers through our SaaS platform.

As General Counsel, you will serve as the company’s chief legal advisor, responsible for all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. You will play a key role in supporting our growth, with a particular focus on SaaS contracts, including contracting with non-profit foundations, public charities and government agencies at the state and local level. You’ll work closely with the executive team and cross-functional departments to ensure contract compliance, mitigate legal risk, support strategic initiatives, and uphold the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, mission-focused environment and understands the nuances of non-profit and public sector contracting.

We are looking for people who are curious, tenacious, intellectually honest, and have a bias toward action.

This is a full-time exempt position. You will work remotely and must be located in the United States.

How you will make an impact/What you will do:

  • Serve as the company’s General Counsel and lead all legal functions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and government contracts, including SaaS subscription agreements, procurement contracts, vendor agreements, and NDAs.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations across data privacy (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), IP, and public sector requirements.
  • Guide risk mitigation efforts and ensure robust governance processes.
  • Advise senior leadership on legal issues, strategic decisions, and risk management.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships and legal vendors efficiently.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations that impact the SaaS and government technology sectors.

What you bring to the team/ About you:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership.
  • 8+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in an in-house counsel role at a SaaS or GovTech organization.
  • Expertise in negotiating and drafting commercial and public sector contracts.
  • Familiarity with SaaS licensing models, cloud service regulations, and compliance programs.
  • A strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High integrity and sound judgment in complex legal and business situations.

Salary:

The expected annual base salary for this role is $260,000-$280,000.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on, but not limited to (a) location; (b) individual candidate skills and qualifications; and (c) individual candidate experience. 

Fluxx is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. We take a market-based approach to pay which may vary depending on your location. Locations are categorized into one of three zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic location and our compensation philosophy.
