Job Description:

At Mars Petcare, we play in an incredible category – universal, emotional, and high value. Our objective is to transform the experience of pet ownership globally, and we created an entirely new Mars Petcare business across the last decade.

The Global Petcare Strategy team is key to the transformation, and so it this role. You will be part of the Petcare Strategy team across both our veterinary health (Care) and petfood businesses, to strengthen Mars Petcare to become a more activist, strategic market leader, shaping the future of pet care.

You will further join the global Mars Inc. organisation, and become part of our unique culture, centered around our five Principles of Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom.

What are we looking for?
  • Strong academic performance at university (or equivalent experience), including at least a II.I at their undergraduate degree or comparable qualification
  • Evidence of complex quantitative / qualitative problem solving
  • c.2-3 years’ experience in strategy consulting or c.5+ years in relevant industries in strategy roles, FP&A, and/or CMI. Demonstrated progression and impact in previous roles is valued
  • Outstanding analytical skills, across both quantitative and qualitative problem solving, and the ability to cut through complex data to drive insights
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, including development of presentation materials to at least GM/CEO type stakeholders
  • Proven ability to own their own modules
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships
What will be your key responsibilities?

Impact the key strategic decisions across our global pet care business

  • Own problems and strategic questions, break them down into constituent parts, and find the right solution through both quantitative methods and qualitative methods
  • Distil analyses into insight and understanding of the pet care category

Build their network in our unique people culture and relationship oriented business

  • Work with senior stakeholders to align key messages and build relationships
  • Build constructive relationships with a broad array of relevant stakeholders, including FP&A and Divisional strategy teams

Drive the global Petcare Leadership agenda

  • Understand trends and how they might impact the broader Mars pet care
  • Feed trends and other topics into the Petcare strategic agenda, and keep it up to date

Strengthen Mars Petcare to become more of an activist, strategic market leader shaping the future of pet care

  • Support Mars Petcare Strategy team as priorities shift – we are one team together
  • Identify potential for improvements and bring them up, to strengthen Mars Petcare (& Mars Inc) overall
