Associate Director, Compensation
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking an Associate Director, Compensation reporting to the Director, Broad-Based Compensation. This role will lead the team that manages broad-based compensation for our Operations functions including fulfillment, customer service, supply chain, and pharmacy lines of business. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to both define and refine strategies that are in keeping with our pay philosophy and operating principles, and differentiated and agile enough to be responsive to fast-moving market trends. The Associate Director will also bring expertise in best practices for operationalizing scalable and efficient approaches in compensation administration. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to partner with and influence business and human resources leadership, as well as the leadership skills necessary to coach, teach, mentor, and continuously develop a team of compensation professionals.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide consultation and partnership to identify how compensation can support business needs and priorities
- Lead, develop, and coach a team of compensation professionals to ensure operating plan deliverables are met in keeping with our operating principles
- Engage and partner across Human Resources to ensure compensation processes, decisions, and strategies are aligned with HR and business objectives
- Build repeatable and scalable solutions to administer compensation plans; ensure proper standards and procedures are followed and programs meet required internal controls to enable enhanced data integrity and proper tracking
- Develop strategies and compensation plans that enable alignment to total rewards philosophy and tenets
- Think strategically and objectively; effectively translate data into actionable insights and approaches
- Ensure compensation is fair and competitive to be able to attract and retain talent for client lines of business
- Ensure partners and stakeholders in human resources, talent acquisition, and business leaders understand compensation plans and processes in place at our organization
What You’ll Need:
- 7+ years of experience, preferably in a fast-paced changing environment
- 3+ years of experience regularly interfacing and communicating with executive leaders up to the C-suite
- Proven track record of utilizing a data-driven approach to building and innovating
- Extensive knowledge of compensation practices
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with multiple stakeholders across the organization
- Collaborative work style that can influence peers, subordinates, and management cross-functionally
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and ideally experience in working within Workday core and advanced compensation modules
