Job Description

What We Do:

PayScale's team of Compensation Professionals goes where none of our competitors have gone before - we combine PayScale's compensation products & data sets with the compensation services our clients need to turn compensation from a plan to a practice.

Our Comp Pro team combines client experience, foundational compensation knowledge, and a breadth of work experience across functions & industries to partner with PayScale clients large & small to execute key compensation deliverables such as building a solid compensation strategy & applicable compensation structure.

What You Do:

As a Compensation Professional you will manage client compensation projects, understand the compensation needs in their business, and articulate how standard compensation services deliverables will be executed to meet those needs.

In this role you will focus on analyzing, building & recommending compensation strategy & pay ranges for clients, and training client company's managers on said compensation strategy, structure, and practices.

Day-in-the-Life:

As a Compensation Professional, a typical day will look like:

  • Scheduling web-based client calls for project deliverables & milestones
  • Client outreach to obtain client deliverables & project input
  • Market analysis of PayScale & third party survey data in PayScale products
  • Review & building of base pay compensation structures
  • Presenting project deliverables to client in-product & via PowerPoint
  • Partnering with members of the PayScale Client Success team to answer client questions regarding PayScale products & data, and compensation solutions & resources

First Year in Role:

  • Month 1: You will train with PayScale's internal enablement team to learn & ramp on all things PayScale and compensation services
  • Month 3: You will work directly with clients and own 'compensation projects' with ongoing coaching from your manager, peers, and CS enablement team members
  • Month 6: You will feel like you're really cooking and eager to take on more
  • Month 12: You will have dozens if not hundreds of projects under your belt and you will be a key contributor to product & process feedback

Experience:

  • Project coordination or management
  • Product service or support
  • Client engagement or services
  • Human resources or business operations

Skills:

  • You have a panache for client engagement, a keen professionalism in your approach to client interactions, and a confidence that even when you don't know the answer, you know how to find it.
  • Knowledge of & exposure to any & all HR related functions & arenas is awesome. If you have a background or familiarity with benefits, payroll, recruiting, hr, or business operations, you'll be able to dive right in.
  • Willingness, ability, & eagerness for experimentation is paramount. PayScale's core values include ownership & innovation. An energy to try new things, and a hubris to acknowledge when things are not working will serve you well in this role.
