We are looking for a talented Director of Compensation to join the Finance team. This position reports to the CFO and will be focused on updating/maintaining FLEXE’s compensation processes and philosophy, inclusive of equity and incentive compensation to ensure that we can attract and retain top talent. This role will also be responsible for driving implementation of new systems/tools and processes needed to to support our growing business. This leader must be able to partner collaboratively with the HR team and work effectively with other FLEXE teams including sales, strategy, marketing, product and engineering, operations, and legal. 

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to understand their talent needs, now and in the future to develop/revise our compensation plan to attract and retain the key talent we need to grow and scale the business.
  • Partner closely with our Recruiting and HR teams to improve the hiring process and candidate experience, specifically related to how we discuss compensation, equity and total rewards at FLEXE.
  • Build, advance & maintain models for cash, equity and variable compensation
  • Be responsible for updating our market data, participating in market surveys and helping us define the relevant market for FLEXE.
  • Partner with HR to oversee the performance and salary review process on a bi-annual cadence. You will also work closely with HR on compensation training and communicating our compensation practices to employees and candidates.
  • Be responsible for managing our equity compensation, from advising on our current methodology and how to improve it to assisting with the grant process, forecasting our option pool, managing equity in our current platform (Carta) and implementing new equity platforms as/if needed.
  • Work closely with Legal and Accounting to comply with all applicable regulatory compliance and/or GAAP requirements, including any internal or external reporting obligations.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced vendors and may manage a team of compensation analysts and/or equity administrators.
  • Communicate, engage, influence and interact senior leaders and hiring managers across the organization.
  • Ensure systems and processes are developed to ensure appropriate internal controls and compliance with US GAAP, legal and tax requirements.

Does This Sound Like You?

  • 10+ years of experience in Compensation management or equivalent roles, including management of teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with launching new programs and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and structure.
  • Ability to break down high level people issues into concrete solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills across a wide range of audiences and the ability to influence senior leadership cross-functionally.
  • HRIS experience with Carta, ADP and/or Workday and familiarity with implementation of new systems
  • Experience managing sensitive people data/information.
  • Possesses a high sense of urgency and a strong desire for excellence
  • Excellent writing, visual and presentation/communications skills
  • Communication - ability to clearly and simply articulate ideas, framing problems and solutions
  • Change management - demonstrated ability to drive organizational change
