Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

As our new Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) you will help further this environment and guide the evolution of our DEI strategy and programs.  In this role, you will work with our Executive Team, People Operations team, and DEI Council to support our growing team and strategic business goals. You will partner across the business to enhance diversity recruitment, development and retention of diverse talent, and foster a workplace where everyone can truly feel a sense of belonging.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Owning and building upon Trupanion’s DEI strategy, furthering the integration of our strategic DEI plan across all aspects of our company and culture
  • Developing, leading and supporting initiatives that have a measurable impact on diversity, equity, and inclusion at Trupanion
  • Building strong partnerships across the company to increase awareness and understanding of DEI as a strategic focus and influence positive change
  • Collaborating with leadership to embed DEI values within our business strategies
  • Collaborating on programs and initiatives to recruit, develop, and retain an engaged, diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Working closely with our Learning and Development team to build DEI acumen for all team members and develop curriculum
  • Mentoring and supporting our existing Employee Resource Groups and our DEI Council and encouraging and supporting new groups to form
  • Developing or updating policies and programs to ensure that our workplace is inclusive to all
  • Hosting and creating events designed to amplify Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within our culture

What you bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience leading Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives inside organizations
  • Experience building a multi-year DEI strategy and prioritizing initiatives that lead to measurable results
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills
  • A strong bias for action and proven track record of positive impact
  • Experience managing projects across multiple different departments and stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating DEI events and trainings for multiple audiences
  • Comfort and experience collaborating and coaching at all levels of an organization, including coaching and advising executive leaders
