Intro:

Expedia Group’s Travel Partner Group (TPG) is looking for a strategic forward-thinking global Director of Learning! This leader will own driving the overall strategy and execution of L&D and enablement for TPG’s Service and Operations organizations to drive business impact and tackle sophisticated information and knowledge challenges. As a leader, you will be responsible for innovative L&D approaches that drive transformational change and empower performance. They will work closely with the wider Expedia L&D leaders as well as closely with our senior leadership team to support business initiatives through L&D. They will lead the vision and strategy and drive the performance of a large team of trainers, and learning professionals.

 

What you will do:

  • Consult and partner with TPG leaders to ensure the successful execution of our business strategy and goals by developing corresponding L&D strategies to enable people's performance.

  • Lead a distributed team of performance, learning, and facilitation consultants focused on driving a global approach.

  • Use performance consulting techniques to understand business needs, assess learning gaps, and resolve prioritization of work.

  • Partner with the TPG Design team, supporting their efforts to create L&D solutions that will enable us to globally scale to meet the business needs beyond the basics that use multiple delivery channels.

  • Measure to evaluate success, ensuring the effectiveness of training solutions by linking desired outcomes to business performance indicators, and tracking and evaluating results.

  • Champion the team’s ways of working, acting as an inspirational leadership role-model, and having a full understanding of TPG L&D processes, design principles, playbook, and governance model.

  • Actively identify, mitigate, resolve or call out any risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact the delivery of L&D solutions

  • Be responsible for the budget, ensuring that the team stays within a forecast.

  • You are an inspiring leader with the ability to distill business insights through analysis and actively provide business solutions and/or a strategic path forward.

  • Own critical customer conversations across all levels of leadership ensuring a strong executive presence and influence skills.

Qualified candidates for this position must be highly motivated, capable of self-direction, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work collaboratively in a partnership capacity. Candidates must exhibit a keen sense of responsibility and enjoy working with multiple demands, shifting priorities, and constant change.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Education, or related field.

  • Preferred professional certificates in Training, L&D, and/or Performance Consulting preferred.

  • 7+ years L&D, leadership, or Service and Operations experience, with strong bias/passion towards adult learning.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.

  • Experience in a broad range of facilitation including train-the-trainer, coaching, and virtual delivery.

  • Experience working in a global role within a matrixed organization.

  • Ability to tackle problems independently and deliver results based on a range of requests.

  • In-depth knowledge of learning theory and methodologies in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of online, in-person, and blended learning solutions.

  • Ability to deal with a high volume of change and ambiguity within an organization.

  • Ability to travel up to 35%, including internationally once it is permitted and safe.
