Role Description

The Head of People Technology - Strategy & Operations is responsible for partnering with functional stakeholders on the People team to understand organizational strategy, identify technology solutions to meet their needs, and partner closely with IT stakeholders to deliver the People technology roadmap. Reporting to the Senior Director of Workforce Planning and Global People Services & Technology, this role will partner directly with People leaders and cross-functional partners to influence the future direction of our roadmap and lead our People technology transformation as we transition to becoming a Virtual First company.

 

As the business lead for People Technology, this role focuses on technology strategy and operations, while working closely with IT stakeholders responsible for implementations, integrations, and configurations. The ideal candidate is innovative, collaborative, scrappy, agile, and has a strong technical foundation, including direct experience in Workday process design and implementation of People systems (ATS, LMS, etc. This hands-on role demands deep knowledge of HR business processes and methodologies, along with a strong background in employee data standards and reporting strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and champion a People technology roadmap; manage the portfolio of People systems and initiatives from initiation to launch
  • Take a product management approach to designing a stack of tools that optimize the employee experience
  • Manage project intake and consult with cross-functional stakeholders to establish prioritization against the roadmap
  • Oversee the assessment, selection, and procurement of systems, as well as maintaining and strengthening vendor relationships
  • Meet technology needs through partnership, influence, and collaboration across People, IT and other internal stakeholders; partner with IT stakeholders to ensure consistent, effective design and implementation of cross-functional solutions
  • Analyze people technology industry trends to inform the technology roadmap and long-term vision
  • Collaborate with IT stakeholders to continue efforts to integrate People systems into an enterprise solution aimed at creating a seamless employee experience across the globe; emphasize scalability and sustainability in all design decisions
  • Provide guidance to functional People leaders to ensure best practices and optimization of core infrastructure; provide recommendations for adoption, enhancements, and future system capabilities
  • Adhere to compliance standards, including documentation of requirements, testing, and approvals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing and leading people technology initiatives (HRIS, ATS, LMS, etc.)
  • Experience leading system assessments and implementations, including project management, issue management, communications, and change management
  • Expertise in Workday required 
  • Excellent knowledge of HR, Payroll & Benefits processes and best practices
  • Experience managing vendors and strengthening external partnerships 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Experience leading a team, including working with/managing contractors and technical resources
  • Experience operating in and building an auditable and compliant software ecosystem
