About You: You are eager to join a fast paced, rapidly growing startup. You will demonstrate the ability to excel in a dynamic work environment as an early member of a growing team. As a part of the HR team, you'll bring the enthusiasm and attitude necessary to get the job done!

You will take ownership of:

  • Assisting employees and leadership teams with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Performing a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of confidential personnel records, reports, and files.
  • Partnering with HR teammates to conduct new-employee orientations.
  • Responding to verifications of employment status.
  • Processing required documents through payroll and insurance providers.
  • Assisting with reconciliation and audits of benefits statements.
  • All things related to I-9s: updating forms, verifying documentation, and maintaining files.
  • Aiding in processing terminations.
  • Helping with preparation for performance reviews.
  • Handling employment verifications and updating state and Department of Labor compliance documents.
  • Assisting the HR team with leave of absence, disability management, return to work and workplace accommodation requests.

You have the following skills and experience:

  • 1+ years of experience as an HR Coordinator or HR Assistant, ideally at a start-up, or in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • You index high on personal resilience and don't get flustered by change or undefined problems.
  • Strong organization, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated record of embracing technology in how you do your work.
  • Experience thinking critically, working independently, and solving problems.
  • Ability to handle clerical duties like making copies, mailing, scanning, and emailing documents, and other administrative functions as necessary.
  • Accurate record-keeping and proper documentation skills. Attention to detail is key!
  • Top notch customer service skills when answering employee requests and questions.
  • Maintaining a high standard of confidentiality of all employee records and information.
  • Experience performing HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
  • Providing operational support to entire People Team.
