Position Scope:

  • The Payroll Specialist assists in the overall functioning of the payroll department. This individual works closely with the Director, Global Payroll, and the Accounting and Finance team in employee payroll related functions.

What Will You Own?

  • Perform and manage a variety of support tasks associated with payroll operations for both the corporate U.S. parent company and its international subsidiaries
  • Process both semi-monthly and monthly wage and salary payments, audit time entries, and schedule special checks as needed.
  • Enforce compliance with Multi-State/Federal and international payroll reporting and tax requirements
  • Complete payroll adjustments and file amendments as required, ensure statutory compliance for SIT and SUI, stay current with change in tax rates and payroll laws
  • Manage domestic and international year-end processes,W-2 auditing and reconciliations
  • File unemployment forms, process new hire paperwork, and create summary reports for management. Utilize automated time and attendance software and programs in day-to-day operations
  • Respond to employee’s questions or requests for information on their payroll checks, internal and external audit requests, legal requests for information, and other payroll related inquiries as needed
  • Offer suggestions, advice, and solutions regarding payroll processing procedures
  • Perform various auditing processes to ensure compliance to payroll, wage and hour laws, and regulations.
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
  • Work with broader Finance/Accounting team on audit support on all payroll topics
  • Opportunity to work with senior business leaders, external vendors and various other internal stakeholders to understand company payroll needs globally, optimize processes, align and harmonize system requirements and processes and drive required change management

What Do You Need for Success?

  • Bachelors in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
  • 2+ years progressive payroll experience processing full cycle of in-house multi-state and international payroll for 500+ employees.
  • Experience with SAP and UltiPro (Ultimate Software), Celergo, ActivPayroll systems a plus
  • Must be a self-starter that can perform independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Expert knowledge of payroll compliance rules and regulations.
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Strong adherence to confidentiality requirements.
  • High level of Integrity and Discretion
  • Detail oriented
  • Possess excellent Microsoft skills including experience with Excel, Access, and Word.
