As a Payroll Specialist at FLEXE, you will work closely with the Payroll Manager and Human Resources Team, with a focus on payroll. This position requires a confident individual with high levels of professionalism and organizational skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will maintain attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks. The Payroll Specialist assists in all functions of the payroll department, including reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing, and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records. They will act as the primary contact for all employee inquiries. The Payroll Specialist will investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with Federal, State, Local and Company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of the biweekly payroll for 200+ employees using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate.
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculation of approved timesheets, deductions, taxes, etc.
  • Create, review, and approve pay calculations with respect to all new hires, terminations, pay changes, retro increases, etc. as well as any updates to payroll records for tax withholding, benefit deductions, and direct deposit changes.
  • First point of contact for any questions pertaining to any questions regarding employees' pay.
  • Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports by compiling information from ADP WFN.
  • Run the monthly, quarterly, and year-end processes including W-2s.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Works within the Human Resources team and partners with the Accounting team.
  • Support annual financial and 401k audit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years payroll processing experience in a fast-paced and high growth environment.
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
  • Experience processing payroll for multi-state.
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Effective customer service, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to react to change with agility.
  • Ability to problem-solve in an effective manner.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US. We will not be sponsoring visas for this role at this time.
