  • Support and partner with business teams to understand current and future goals and trends that may impact workforce needs and initiatives.

Reports to: Chief People Officer

As the People Business Partner at Tango Card, in addition to the cool work listed above, your responsibilities are to:

  • Form effective relationships with the client groups, providing People guidance and supporting people processes
  • Conduct weekly meetings with assigned business unit(s)
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and opportunities for learning
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions)
  • Partner with business unit leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention, and ensure an effective work environment
  • Provide guidance and input on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning
  • Lead meetings with hiring managers and recruiters to assess potential headcount requests, create new job descriptions or update existing ones, provide compensation data, partner with Recruiting and Candidate Experience throughout the hiring process, and lead the onboarding process for new Tangocardians
  • Manage and resolve basic employee relations issues; escalate potential serious issues to the Chief People Officer and/or Legal 
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory and company policy compliance in partnership with the Chief People Officer and Legal
  • Create new company processes, practices, and policies; review and make recommendations for improving existing company policies and processes; and communicate changes to help insure adoption
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

To be effective in our People Business Partner role, you must have the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Six or more years of HR Business Partner experience
  • Skilled in HR analytics
  • Experience in multiple human resources disciplines including talent acquisition, compensation, organizational design and development, employee relations, training and development, performance management, workforce planning, and rewards and recognition 
  • Experience in supporting culture, engagement, and diversity initiatives
  • Skilled in conflict management 
  • Skilled in providing constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations
  • Skilled in creating HR processes and documenting HR and company practices and policies
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communications  
  • Skilled in problem solving, planning, and organizational skills
  • Skilled in building and maintaining interpersonal relationships
  • Must be self-directed, flexible, and able to interact well with employees at all levels.

Our ideal People Business Partner at Tango Card will have most of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a high growth tech company
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Experience with Namely HRIS
  • Experience with Greenhouse ATS
  • Experience with compensation modeling using tools such as Radford
  • Experience using productivity tools such as Confluence, Slack, Jira, Monday.com, etc.
  • Experience supporting multiple departmental functions
