Senior Employee Relations Business Partner - Location Flexible
Role Description
Reporting directly to the Global Head of HR Business Partners (dotted line reporting to our Head of Employment Law), you will lead and advise on all things Employee Relations: performance management, investigations, etc. We are seeking a Senior Employee Relations Business Partner who can support our HR Business Partners, Leaders, and Legal team in managing complex employee relations situations to truly make a difference for our employees in moments that matter. Responsibilities
- You will provide strategic partnership and guidance to business leaders and Dropboxers, ensuring employee advocacy and fairness.
- You will create an environment of positive employee relations by maintaining confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility among cross-functional partners, being seen by employees and leaders as approachable and fair, and balancing business needs with employee needs
- You will lead sensitive investigations from start to finish relating to: harassment, bullying, retaliation, discrimination, hostile work environment and other potential violations of Dropbox policies, in partnership with the People and Employment Legal teams
- You will collaborate with Employment Counsel and HR Business Partners on investigations and their resolution
- You will serve as the first point of contact for HR Business Partners on employee relations questions and concerns
- You will deliver exceptional support that is timely, pragmatic and mitigates risk for employee related issues including, but not limited to: attendance issues, employee separations, performance and conduct management (including as it intersects with disability accommodations)
- You will establish best practices and frameworks for investigations, performance management conversations, employee concerns, in partnership with our Employment Legal team
- You will improve, socialize and roll out processes, approaches, guidelines, practices and operating procedures related to employee relations (this can include implementing new, strategic solutions)
- You will develop and maintain a case management system, produce dashboards and use data to identify employee relations trends
- You will act as a culture ambassador, fostering diversity and inclusion
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in an Employee Relations, HR Business Partner or equivalent role, leading complex workplace investigations involving equal employment opportunity laws and other employment related laws (e.g., Title VII, FMLA, ADA, ADEA)
- Prior experience partnering with employment legal counsel is required
- Specialized training in labor/employee relations (like the Association of Workplace Investigators) is a plus, but not required
- Prior international experience is also a plus, but not required
- You have excellent judgement in conducting investigations and assessing outcomes
- You have strong problem-solving capabilities, as well as the ability to make thoughtful decisions
- You possess excellent communication skills in interviewing, presenting to senior staff, and in writing
- You can maintain confidentiality and privacy at all times, and conduct investigations with the utmost integrity
- You have the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, and prioritize workload/cases effectively
- You have a proven track record of positively influencing ICs, leaders, teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- You are agile, fearless, and able to adapt to shifting priorities
- You work effectively with cross-functional partners (e.g. Legal) and the broader HR team to build a better employee experience
