Transparent Systems is transforming financial infrastructure with on-demand settlement solutions. Leveraging cryptographically secured distributed networks, we’re reducing the friction in making and receiving payments. Starting with B2B payments and treasury management solutions, our goal is to create a more inclusive economy that empowers your business and your money.

We always live our core values of collaboration, transparency, diversity, and accountability, which reflect in the way we work together, treat each other, and in the products we build.

We are searching for an HR Generalist to join our team and manage the day-to-day administration and delivery of our current HR programs, policies, and compliance. As the face of HR, you will build trust with employees; collaborate across the company; solve issues that arise, particularly in payroll and benefits; and leverage your experience and lessons learned to advise us on the needs and best practices necessary to ensure our HR program remains compliant and continues to have a positive impact across Transparent Systems.

In short, we need someone who is comfortable helping employees, always reviewing and addressing gaps in our current systems and policies, but also keeps an eye on future pitfalls and needs. If what we’ve said appeals to you, continue reading and send us your resume!

As a newly remote-first company, you will work from home, too; however, you must be located in the United States.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own and administer our payroll and benefits programs, fielding any employee questions and solving any issues that arise
  • Manage and maintain our HR, benefits, and payroll tools
  • Maintain and establish new standards to ensure we have the right mix of compensation, benefits, and perks for our employees. This may include, but is not limited to: total rewards; compensation review, benchmarking, and leveling; managing the benefits system and annual review; and managing regular employee engagement surveys for feedback
  • Collaborating with managers and advising on matters of current retention, performance management, and professional development programs
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices; and review policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Advocate for employees, addressing their ideas, issues, and feedback
  • Lead by example and champion collaborative, cross-functional relationships across the company

What's in it for you:

  • Helping to bring a novel, cutting-edge product to the market
  • Competitive startup salary
  • Full benefits package
  • Equity
  • Learning and growing in your role
  • Creating real and tangible impacts seen throughout the company
  • We believe we are a fun place to work with smart people
  • Collaborative environment and a small team with creative autonomy

What you bring to us:

  • 4+ years of experience in HR
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Experience in tech, or similar, companies
  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration, including 401(k) and stock options
  • An understanding of the nuances of benefits and healthcare plans, so you can guide us in making positive choices for our employees
  • The ability to handle sensitive information confidentiality
  • Comfortable handling employee relations issues, and a passion for building an amazing employee experience
  • Understanding of federal and state employment regulations (We are located in Washington, California, D.C., Missouri, and Massachusetts to start).
  • As a team of one, you will need to be self-driven and ready to execute
  • You understand that while policies and rules are important and necessary, HR isn’t always rigid, and you know when flexibility is needed
  • You embrace our core values: Live Diversity; Demonstrate Integrity and Act as an Owner; Collaborate Effectively; Deliver with Quality; and Learn Constantly and Share Knowledge

Your "extra" experience:

  • Working in HR teams at remote-first or remote-only companies
  • Working at smaller companies
  • SHRM or SPHR certifications
