About The Position:

The Senior Manager, Compensation & People Operations is an exciting opportunity to develop and execute the infrastructure and initiatives that will attract and retain the best talent, enhance our collaborative and agile culture and enable Qumulo to rapidly scale the business. In this unique role, you will be responsible for end-to-end design, delivery, and administration on a global basis of our compensation programs, job architecture, compliance, reporting and HR systems. 

This position requires a mix of strategic planning, customer focused design, and hands-on operational experience, as well as an excellent working knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Candidates must have demonstrated project management experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current compensation programs and make recommendations for changes that will further Qumulo’s business strategy and employment brand.
  • Manage and administer global compensation programs and processes.  Ensure programs are competitive, aligned with business goals, consistently administered and in compliance with company policies and federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Lead the semi-annual pay review cycle, competitive market analysis and off cycle compensation changes, ensuring executive buy-in.
  • Assist the VP of People and the CFO on the administration of executive compensation programs and compensation committee general administration.
  • Manage vendor contracts and leverage vendor relationships to design and deliver competitive and cost-effective compensation plans.
  • Manage HR systems and provide recommendations that are cost effective, improve employee experience and scale for growth. Partner with stakeholders and external vendors on implementations.  
  • Provide expertise and guidance to key stakeholders and partners, such as employees, managers, executive team, finance, and the people team. 
  • Prepare and deliver communications to all levels, including reporting to drive awareness, effectively evaluate programs and identify trends that impact the business. 

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge in global compensation including: competitive global rewards practices and delivery models, job architectures and job profiles – including technical career ladders.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully scaling programs in a dynamic, high-growth or startup environment.  
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistical analysis and modeling, with a proven ability to rigorously measure and analyze the right things to meet business objectives.
  • Strong project and program management skills and able to effectively manage competing priorities to meet commitments on time and with excellent quality. 
  • Transparent communication style, with the ability to simply and clearly communicate compensation concepts and programs to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer first mindset, and the ability to build credibility with, and effectively influence, executive stakeholders.
  • Possess an experimental mindset and thrive in an environment where you can create, build, and iterate. in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable employment laws, policies, techniques; high degree of integrity and ability to exercise discretion. Knowledgeable in employment law, employment legislation, and experience in compliance management.
  • Experience with ADP, BambooHR and advanced MS Excel skills, and with selecting and implementing software solutions
  • 7 + years experience in compensation programs and services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related area, or equivalent knowledge 
  • Advanced degree and/or CCP designation highly preferred.
