Job Description

Our People Team is made up of PayScale’s HR, Employee Ex-Ops, TA, and L&D groups. We’re here to ensure that our employees can bring their full selves to work and that they have all of the tools, connections, and resources they need to thrive! In particular, the Recruiting team is responsible for all full-cycle recruiting, partnering with business leaders to build best-in-class teams that enable us to meet (& exceed) our company objectives.

What You Do: In this role, you will provide strategic guidance and advice in a true partnership with hiring managers, building and maintaining the talent bench of their teams. You’ll develop and drive sourcing strategies, running full-cycle searches from concept to close. The positive relationships you develop with candidates throughout the interview stages enables you to identify the best, most genuine fit (for both sides of the table) and certainly doesn’t hurt the closing process! You always act as an ambassador, and your enthusiasm for the organization is contagious. This truly shines when you represent PayScale at events and industry conferences – you’re always building your network.

Day-in-the-Life: As a Senior Recruiter, a typical day may include the following…

  • Host a launch meeting with the Director of Content Marketing, helping her define the ask, identify the target candidate profile, and determine a sourcing and interviewing strategy.
  • Conduct 2 phone interviews with prospective sales candidates.
  • Build a Boolean search string to help you source candidates for the Sales Data Analyst search, and use to identify at least 15 potential fits to contact. Design the engagement messaging and trigger those emails.
  • Conduct 1 phone interview with prospective software engineer candidates, updating their application profile with my thorough screening notes and triggering the coding challenge.
  • Work with the Marketing team on a webinar about negotiating salaries with a recruiter, which you’ll present to SHRM participants next week!

First Year in Role:

  • Month 3: Complete onboarding and develop your own narrative/”elevator pitch” about the company to use with your network and prospective candidates. Meet with the department heads for various teams in order to get up to speed on their historical staffing experience, their current state, and their immediate needs.
  • Month 6: Building rapport with leaders within your assigned business groups. Conduct launch meetings with those hiring managers for all immediate needs identified with the respective department heads. Design sourcing strategies and running each full-cycle search.
  • Month 12: Refine your process and identify several working strategies for not only filling requisitions, but also maintaining strong, consultative relationships with your business partners. They see you as a trusted advisor, and you’ve been able to hire quickly for their teams without compromising quality.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 7+ years experience recruiting for high-growth companies, mix of agency/corporate.
  • Experience sourcing and closing passive senior talent across tech, marketing, sales, etc.
  • Experience blueprinting and talent mapping.
  • Ability to think outside of the box (aka LinkedIn) to source senior talent in creative ways.
  • Experience leading hiring events, university events, etc.
  • Data Integrity - you're devoted to clean and accurate data and are fluent in using data to tell stories to key partners.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication.

Tools:

  • Modern recruiting technology (ATS, sourcing tools, LinkedIn, branding sites, etc.)
