Our SVP of People will play a critical role in the future of DreamBox. The key to success will hinge on building strong relationships with the rest of the Executive Team and reporting directly to the CEO to help develop and drive our bold company vision. This position will be responsible for ensuring that our People practice fosters and supports our mission to radically transform the way the world learns — by demonstrating an adaptive and customer-centric style while developing and coaching others to engage in what we call benevolent friction (being hard on ideas and soft on people). The SVP People will lead and inspire the People team with an eye to constant learning, support and development.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Partner closely with the CEO to strategically plan for and design organizational development during the next phase of company growth, including M&A integration and executive team (ET) professional development
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the (ET) to strengthen DreamBox’s brand as a destination employer for the best minds and talents in the industry
  • Successfully implement strategic and innovative human capital solutions supporting business growth and transformation including leading M&A activities for the People Team
  • Build, communicate, and scale a Total Rewards strategy, including the design of a compensation structure that is driven by market data and encapsulates DBL's values
  • Cultivate and communicate DBL values and culture throughout all levels of the organization
  • Set the tone for strategic growth in recruitment and building positive employer brand
  • Apply expert knowledge in organizational assessment & design while developing, implementing and evaluating change management programs and organizational problem-solving processes
  • Develop data focused performance management methodologies
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure compliance for the company that operates all across the US
  • Promote cross-departmental alignment to ensure consistent application of processes and programs
  • Provide coaching at all levels; assesses appropriate development solutions/intervention strategies

About You:

  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources and People Operations experience, with 5+ years leading in a fast-paced organization at an executive level at and enterprise technology company, EdTech industry experience is a plus.
  • Broad HR expertise leading scalable HR/People Ops/Talent Acquisition teams in high growth companies, and at least 2 years as a direct report to the CEO
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters in a relevant field, appropriate HR certifications are a plus
  • Change management expertise especially post M&A is desired
  • Demonstrated success/learning of innovative and forward-thinking talent strategies and initiatives, and successfully scaling of a compelling company culture
  • Demonstrated experience as a senior business executive who has added perspective and leadership beyond the areas of individual functional responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence
  • Strong program/project management orientation to develop streamlined human resources programs and processes
  • Hands-on leader with the ability to attract a highly motivated and talented team
  • Financial and business acumen in addition to domain expertise
  • Private equity portfolio company experience preferred
  • Flexible and high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Experience working at the Board level a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (when applicable)
