Talent Development Lead - Engineering, Product & Marketing

| Seattle

Do you have a passion for helping people grow?

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

The Talent Development Lead will support the execution of talent development initiatives in the disciplines of performance management, talent management, employee engagement, learning and development, and culture for Groupon’s Engineering, Product & Marketing functions based in the Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Seattle offices. This person will be a member of the Global Talent Development and will work closely with the HR Director and HRBPs to establish and bring to life our people agenda. As Groupon continues its focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, we are seeking a Talent Development Lead to craft and deploy programs that support our employees in a dynamic talent landscape.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a significant and meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

How you'll spend your time:

Leadership Development (40%)

  • You will ensure effective delivery and evaluation of management and leadership capability programs
  • You will guide and collaborate with business leaders to craft, revise and facilitate internal training initiatives
  • Partner with both HR and the business to build methods that meet succession and development planning needs of different teams and ultimately strengthen the bench of future leaders

Culture and Engagement (30%)

  • You will launch initiatives to increase the engagement and retention of talent
  • You will re-establish mentoring, meetups, and hackathons to drive learning and camaraderie
  • Promote the Groupon mission, values, and Leader Habits

Performance Management (15%)

  • You will lead change management efforts that support a high-performing culture
  • You will ensure adoption and practical use of WorkDay and other technology systems
  • Drive the transformation of Groupon’s performance management to move towards a culture of continuous feedback and coaching, using the right frameworks and tools

Talent Management (15%)

  • You will partner with HRBPs to facilitate individual and team talent assessments, including 9-block reviews, and create and improve upon a variety of tools to identify and develop future leaders
  • You will build, maintain, and train HR to facilitate succession planning, inclusive of individual talent profiles and individual development planning

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Talent and Leadership specifically in Tech organizations or business units understanding their needs and their day-to-day experiences
  • Strong organizational skills with evidence of successfully leading concurrent projects
  • You get things done with your hands-on approach. You're a self-starter who can execute in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
  • Demonstrates deep comfort with ambiguity and ability to adapt prior experience to the Groupon landscape and culture
  • Polished and comfortable public speaker with experience in virtual delivery and webinars
  • Mature emotional quotient and strong interdepartmental collaboration skills

We're pumped if you have:

  • Master’s degree or advanced degree in Industrial/Organizational psychology
  • Experience rolling out global programs a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in Situational Leadership
