Job Description

We are looking for customer-focused individuals with a passion for learning and engaging with customers to join our CHQ Insurance Team!  

Scope of Position: To handle all administration for insurance accounts and related projects associated with the cargo insurance product. This includes support of branches, claims, customers, and sales personnel, while exhibiting excellent customer service.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

Tasks and Duties

Demonstrate the ability to accurately and professionally perform all job tasks including:

  • Professional policy support within required timeframes, including:
    • New policy set up
    • Renewals
    • Audits
  • Provide proactive customer support
  • Exhibit friendly and professional correspondence with both internal and external customers
  • Maintain complete and accurate electronic files, including documentation of correspondence within company guidelines
  • Constantly making an effort to build and foster relationships with our clients
  • Successfully cross-sell insurance products that are not currently being provided
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions
  • Collaborate effectively with sales teams to develop strategy for renewals and customer interactions
  • Proactive identification of opportunities for process improvement
  • Various ad-hoc assignments for the insurance product will be given. Specific details about the scope and expectations of each assignment will be explained. Successful execution of these tasks within the indicated timeframes is required
  • Ability to understand, manage, prioritize and re-prioritize with a sense of urgency
  • Timely and accurate quote processing
  • Identify and evaluate risks and apply underwriting guidelines accordingly.
  • Learn and efficiently operate within the Expeditors Insurance systems and applications.
  • Effectively manage account portfolio and process all renewals timely and accurately.

 

Physical Demands

  • Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse, phone, fax/copy/scan machine, etc.  
  • Write with pencil/pen/marker
  • Functions performed primarily while seated at desk
  • Ability to travel to different corporate locations as needed

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree 
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Fluent in English
  • Prior Work Experience in a Business Environment
  • Strong Attention to Detail 
  • Organizational Skills & Ability to Effectively Prioritize Work
  • Exceptional Communication Skills
  • Experience in the Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Insurance Industry a Plus, But Not Required

Additional Information

Expected base salary: $27.50– $33.70 / hour (approx. $60k to $70k annually)
