ROLE SUMMARY
The Intelligent Assistant Solutions (IAS) Team within the AI, Data and Analytics (AIDA) organization, engineers and scales AI/GenAI products and platforms that enable Pfizer Business Units to connect digitally with our external customers, provide intelligent automation solutions and effectively engage/collaborate across teams internally.
The IAS team seeks a talented Leader who will be accountable for the strategy, engineering and delivery of intelligent assistant products built on GenAI/AI/ML platform capabilities. The selected leader will lead a team of colleagues and collaborate across multiple business unit domains, Digital Creation Centers to deliver a diverse set of enterprise capabilities, while supporting multiple concurrent large global programs and projects across all phases of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle. Responsible to ensure that business and technology objectives are realized across programs and projects.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a cohesive strategy to delivery Intelligent Assistant solutions and agents at scale that address to unique business challenges.
- Working with business and client partners to understand and determine value and viability of new business use cases associated with GenAI, AI and NLP.
- Recruit and develop a diverse world class team of product owners and AI engineers fostered in a culture around excellence.
- Partner with other Pfizer Digital (e.g. Core Solution Centers, Architecture) to adhere to the Pfizer Digital operating model and gain alignment on technology roadmaps, standardize solution patterns, and leverage reusable components.
- Lead engineering efforts to develop reusable platform, data and application components to scale delivery efforts.
- Guide and influence global program scope, goals, deliverables, and financial estimates that support business goals in collaboration with leadership, technical delivery team and stakeholders.
- Participate in the effort of shaping the architecture and design by actively helping the team in choosing the right technology, methodology and solving challenges.
- Enforce strong project management and agile methodology principles as part of every delivery cycle.
- Work across matrix organization and geographically dispersed virtual teams.
- Leadership of 4-5 direct report colleagues and indirect oversight of over 50+ contractor staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MS & BS in Business Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related field.
- 15+ years of related work experience as an established strategic thinker with business acumen and a proven track record of successfully delivering global programs/projects with positive outcomes, preferably in the pharmaceutical/life sciences environment.
- 10+ years experience a applying existing and emerging GenAI, AI, ML, NLP in production solutions.
- 8+ years experience delivering enterprise scale innovative automation solutions in the areas of Virtual Assistant, Chatbots, Voice Assistant, RPA, and intelligent search.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools, frameworks and methods required to deploy and scale solutions to production.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts such as LLMs, RAG, Prompt Engineering
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Strong program and project management experience leading multiple global initiatives in parallel.
- Understanding and demonstrated use of design patterns and user experience.
- Experience leveraging agile software development methodologies and tools.
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
GENERAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Advisor/Consultancy: Provides well-informed advice, typically within a specific technical specialization, ensuring that it is properly understood and appropriately exploited, to enhance the effectiveness of significant activities. Provides advice on technical aspects of Conversational UI and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
- Technical Acumen: Maintains knowledge of specific technologies provides detailed advice regarding their application, executes specialized tasks.
- Thought Leadership & Advocacy: Develop awareness of industry developments and best practices Provide thought leadership in emerging technologies as they relate to AI and Conversational UI.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to develop visually simple and appealing PowerPoint presentations and be comfortable with articulating and communicating with the right authority and messaging to a broad range of stakeholders.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $269,400.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. * The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $145,400.00 to $242,400.00.
